BIO
Councilman TJ Dow is honored to have been elected to Cleveland City Council to represent Ward 7 in 2008, an area which includes the historic Hough district. As a longtime resident of Cleveland, he is proud of the area he serves and has assisted and counseled many community and civil rights organizations. He plans to continue to work on community and economic development in Ward 7 to enhance the quality of life of the residents.
Councilman Dow serves the ward 7 community to the best of his ability by supporting a safe, secure and comfortable neighborhood to all residents. In this light, he created and implemented The Dow Plan, a comprehensive plan that will keep the community moving in the right direction. The plan focuses on creating programming for seniors, youth and making a safe and enjoyable community for ward 7 residents.
Recently, Councilman Dow was appointed the chair of the Mayor’s Appointments Committee, and he serves as vice chair of the Community and Economic Development Committee. He also is a member of the Public Parks, Property and Recreation, City Planning, Public Safety, Public Service and Public Utilities Committees.
Councilman Dow graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law with a degree in law and Cleveland State University Levin College of Urban Affairs with a Master's degree in Public Administration.
Before serving on Cleveland City Council, Councilman TJ Dow gained extensive experience serving as a legislative aide for Cleveland City Council. Most recently he served as an assistant prosecuting attorney for the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office.
