Trailside is an exciting new $20 million, 100 unit housing development neighborhood growing in the heart of Broadway Slavic Village, adjacent to Third Federal Savings and Loan’s world headquarters. Located along the Morgana Run multipurpose trail at the intersection of E. 71st Street and Aetna Road, the Trailside community offers three different housing types, including detached single family homes and townhomes. Homes were built by Zaremba Homes, a name known throughout Northeast Ohio as a builder of award winning, quality neighborhoods.
The homes themselves are being designed with an eye toward sustainability and energy efficiency, and will include the latest in green construction. Two and three bedroom units will be available, at affordable prices.
Down payment assistance and 15-year property tax abatement will be available. Zaremba, Third Federal Savings and its chairman and CEO Marc A. Stefanski, Cleveland City Councilman Tony Brancatelli, the City of Cleveland and Slavic Village Development worked together for more than five years to acquire and redevelop the project site, which was a neighborhood Brownfield site until it was recently cleaned up.
“This is a pivotal moment for the entire Slavic Village community,” said Councilman Brancatelli. “This neighborhood has been hit hard by the housing market crisis and recent economic downturn. And I am proud to announce a new housing development, which shows that this community is turning the corner and making a comeback.”
Trailside Slavic Village incorporates the Complete Remediation of the site by the City of Cleveland with Clean Ohio and USEPA funds.
