Cleveland City Council is on the road again in Wards 9, 10 and 11

Cleveland City Council is taking to the road and into the neighborhoods again as part of an effort to learn more about the City of Cleveland and their constituents.

The 7th tour and neighborhood Council Meeting is part of the Cleveland City Council in the Neighborhoods Initiative prompted by Council President Martin J. Sweeney.  The 7th tour will take council through Wards 9, 10 and 11.  The regular Cleveland City Council meeting on September 17, 2007 will be held at the Waterloo Slovenian Workman's Home, 15335 Waterloo Rd., at 7:00pm.

As Council Members, we have a duty to know about all of Cleveland's diverse neighborhoods," said Council President Sweeney.   "We are accomplishing this learning process by moving some of our regular meetings into the City and touring Wards to give our colleagues an opportunity to share the problems and successes in each of their Wards.

The tour will cover the Collinwood neighborhood in Wards 10 and 11 and Glenville and University Circle neighborhoods of Ward 9.

Council embarked on the Cleveland City Council Neighborhoods Initiative in Spring of 2006.  The Ward tour before the Council Meeting helps council acquire a better understanding and knowledge of all of Cleveland's diverse neighborhoods.  The tour allows Council Members to share the accomplishments, opportunities and challenges of each individual ward.

Council intends to tour all of the wards in the City of Cleveland in several clusters, culminating in a Council meeting in the neighborhood.
