WHO:

Councilman Martin J. Keane, Ward 21

The West Park Cleveland Police and Fire Fighters Memorial Fund Committee; and

Supporters of the Memorial

WHAT: A celebration of the 5th Anniversary of the West Park Cleveland Police and Fire Fighters Memorial

WHEN & WHERE:

Saturday, September 8, 2007

11:00 am -    Ceremony at the Memorial, on Rocky River Drive, just south of McKinley Road

Noon –        Reception at Linus Hall, Our Lady of Angels, 3644 Rocky River Drive

WHY:

The West Park Cleveland Police and Fire Fighters Memorial was originally constructed due to the joint efforts of the City of Cleveland, Cleveland City Council, ODOT, CPPA, Local 93 Cleveland Fire Fighters Union, the Greater Cleveland Business Community and West Park residents, under the leadership of Timothy McGinty.

The Memorial was erected in honor of those Police Officers and Fire Fighters that gave their lives while in the line of duty from or in the West Park community.

"The 5th Anniversary of the Memorial is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by our police officers and fire fighters," said Councilman Keane.  "I invite everyone to come out and show their respects."
