Councilman Coats fights illegal dumping

Councilman Roosevelt Coats, Ward 10, has taken as stand against illegal dumping.   On Tuesday, October 2, 2007, the Councilman turned his attention to a trailer filled with tires that had been abandoned at the Corner of E. 140th Street and Deise Avenue and had been littering the landscape of the Ward 10 community for three days.   The trailer, with broken wheels created an eyesore for residents and posed a threat to the safety and security of the neighborhood.  While the trailer's path was traceable, requests that the debris be disposed of properly were left unheeded.

"Illegal dumping creates an eyesore and deteriorates our quality of life," said Councilman Coats.  "This kind of blatant disrespect will not be tolerated in my community."

Due to the diligence of Councilman Coats, the trailer is no longer creating a hassle for residents.
