Ohio Treasurer and US Treasurer to Visit Mt. Pleasant
 
 
WHO: Councilman Zack Reed, Ward 3
US Treasurer Anna Cabral
Ohio Treasurer Richard Cordray
Cuyahoga County Treasurer James Rokakis
   
WHAT: Councilman Reed will meet with the US and Ohio Treasurers in the Mt. Pleasant community to discuss foreclosure issues.  The group will then tour the Ward 3 community, which is among those worst hit by foreclosure in the nation.  Once the tour has capitulated, the group will be available to speak with media.

WHY: Starting in January 2006, Cleveland City Council, incollaboration public and private partners, has focused on the presence of vacant and abandoned properties in the City of Cleveland in an effort to improve the quality of life for Cleveland residents by reducing the negative social and economic impacts of these properties, such as decreased safety,lower property values and the overall decay of neighborhoods.
