WHAT: A special presentation to Congressman Louis Stokes commemorating the 40th Anniversary of Carl B. Stokes’ swearing-in as the first African-American Mayor of a major US City
   
WHEN: Monday, November 12, 2007 @ 6:45 pm
 
WHERE: Cleveland City Council Chambers, City Hall

(Parking in the Willard Garage will only cost $1 for those attending the commemoration.)
   
WHY: “The November 13, 1967 swearing-in of Carl B. Stokes as the first Black major of a major US city, was one of the proudest moments in the history of the Black community and changed our lives forever,” said Councilman Reed.  “It is because of Carl B.
