Councilman Coats holds 2nd Wake Up Call Rally

WHO: Councilman Roosevelt Coats, Ward 10,
State Senator Shirley Smith,
State Representative Eugene Miller,
Rev. Earl Bumgarner and City of God Baptist Fellowship Church,
Ward 10 Senior Advisory Committee; and
Ward 10 Community and area ministers

WHAT: The 2nd Wake Up Call Rally: Stop the Violence Forum will provide area youth with an opportunity to speak out and the community with a chance to hear what they have to say. Psychologists will be on hand to answer questions.

WHEN: Thursday, November 8, 2007 from 6 to 8 pm

WHERE: Collinwood High School, 15200 St. Clair Avenue

WHY: The 1st Wake Up Rally hosted in September provided children with an opportunity to interact with leaders from Northeast Ohio in order to establish mentoring relationships and to obtain workforce development training resources and employment assistance.  However, continual communication with youth is needed to establish a true partnership.

“This second rally shows our youth that we are serious about having a continual, open dialogue with them,” said Councilman Coats.  “In order to prepare our children for the future, we must provide them with necessary tools now.”
