Council to pass legislation to further the redevelopment of St. Michael's Hospital

Cleveland City Council expects to pass legislation to partially finance the ongoing demolition of the Nurses Building and Main Building of St. Michael's Hospital, 5163 Broadway Avenue, on at the Council Meeting on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 7 pm.

Ward 5 Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland is working with the North Broadway community to fully develop a new vision for the St. Michael's Hospital site.

"This takes us one step closer to actualizing the vision of the community for the former St. Michael's Hospital," said Councilwoman Cleveland.   "I am happy to see this project moving forward."

The City is actively seeking a developer that will be able to transform the vision of the community to reality.   The goal for the development is to create a new housing complex that will both beautify the surrounding area and spur economic development in the neighborhood.
