City welcomes Slovenian Ambassador for presentation of restored statue

WHAT: The City of Cleveland welcomes Samuel Žbogar, Ambassador of Slovenia to the United States for a presentation ceremony of the restored historic sculpture of the "Lady of Slovenia". The statue is a gift originally given by the people of Ljubljana to the people of Cleveland in 1938
   
WHEN: Friday, May 18, 2007, 12:00 pm
 
WHERE: Mayor's Red Room, City Hall 2nd Floor
   
WHY: "The statue represents the strong bonds our city has to Slovenia and their people," says Councilman Polensek.  "We welcome Ambassador Žbogar to our city, and hope to nurture the bonds that were created almost 70 years ago."
