Cleveland City Council launches new website

Cleveland City Council is launching a new website on Saturday, March 17, 2007.  Visitors to www.clevelandcitycouncil.org will immediately notice some exciting new features. In addition to a fresh, new look, the website is easier to navigate and provides more current information to users. The most pronounced difference between the new website and Council’s former website is less visible.  The site has a new content management system (CMS), bringing it increased functionality and navigational capabilities.

“I’m excited about the new website,” said Council President Martin J. Sweeney.  “It allows us to post more information regarding legislation, committees and events in a more timely manner.  The new site gives visitors a better look at the important work being done at Cleveland City Council.”

Residents, students, professionals and other visitors to www.clevelandcitycouncil.org can find information about Council members, committees and legislation, can view news updates and ward maps, and can sign up to receive email notification.

“This Council is committed to maintaining transparency and an open dialogue with the public,” said Council President Sweeney.  “The new site is one way we are doing this.”

Visit www.clevelandcitycouncil.org to explore the new Cleveland City Council website.
