Councilman Eugene R. Miller Responds to Dynamite Scare

Ward 10 Cleveland City Councilman Eugene R. Miller would like to commend all who helped investigate and work with community residents after a stash of dynamite was found in the Collinwood neighborhood.

“I would like to commend the Cleveland police, bomb squad, EMS, Fire Department, RTA and American Red Cross.  Special thanks to 5th District Police Commander Wayne Drummond and Larry Gray from the Cleveland Fire Department for their strong leadership during this crisis,” said Councilman Miller.  “The coordination with multiple organizations was exemplary and I would like to thank them on behalf of the residents of Ward 10.”

The dynamite was saturated with water and burned so that it would not be harmful to the local community.  The police discovered the problem during a basic patrol and simply did their job by investigating the suspicious activity in a garage.

“As neighbors, we need to be on the lookout for this type of activity,” Councilman Miller commented.  “Our public safety officials cannot do it alone.”
