News Advisory:

WHO: Cleveland City Council’s Community and Economic Development Committee

WHAT: A public hearing to continue the discussion surrounding the use of tax abatement. Council will hear from several developers including Ken Lurie, Nate Zaremba, Chip Marous, Chris Ferchill, Ari Maron, John Sutton and Robert Corna with his partner Doug Price regarding their experiences with residential tax abatement.

WHEN: Tuesday, January 23, 2007 at 9:30 am

WHERE: Cleveland City Council’s Committee Room

WHY: “New housing is vital to Cleveland’s continued revitalization,” said Councilwoman Sabra Pierce Scott. “In viewing tax abatement as one incentive to development, we want to hear from those that benefit from this tool first hand so that we may better evaluate the ways in which the City awards tax abatement.”
