Councilman Zone sworn in as NOCCA president;
Lt. Governor Fisher addresses NOCCA forum
 
 
WHO: Councilman Matt Zone, Ward 17
Lt. Governor Lee Fisher
Northeast Ohio City Council Association (NOCCA)
   
WHAT: The Perspectives from the State House with Lt. Governor Lee Fisher NOCCA Forum will feature a presentation and question and answer session with the Lt. Governor focused on the concerns of city governments.

NOCCA will also swear in the 2008 presiding officers at the Forum, including Councilman Zone as president.
   
WHEN: Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 7 pm
 
WHERE: Embassy Suites Hotel, 5800 Rockside Woods Blvd. in Independence
   
WHY: Formed in 1989 as the Greater Cleveland Suburban Council Association, NOCCA changed its name in 2003 to reflect the participation of Cleveland City Council in the organization, which serves as a unified voice for the region’s legislators.  NOCCA focuses on facilitating communication among communities; developing solutions to common problems and concerns; exchanging ideas and information; enhancing professional skills; and offering quarterly forums regarding subjects relevant to effective and responsive government.

                    “It is an honor to be elected to serve as president of NOCCA,” said Councilman Zone.  “I intend to lead this organization toward continual growth and to increase NOCCA’s voice in the region.”
