Italian Renaissance Cultural Garden to unveil new historic lighting

WHO: Councilwoman Sabra Pierce Scott, Ward 8,
Councilman Matt Zone, Ward 17
The City of Cleveland
The Italian Renaissance Cultural Garden;
and Cleveland’s Italian Community

WHAT: A historic lighting celebration of the Italian Renaissance Cultural Garden.

The Italian Renaissance Cultural garden is unveiling their new $60,000 historic lighting, which is the first project of its kind in the Cleveland Cultural Gardens.  The elegant Renaissance-style garden, modeled after the Villa Medici in Rome, was dedicated in 1930 and is the only Renaissance Cultural garden in Ohio.  It encompasses two levels with Renaissance fountains and winding staircases and it showcases famous Italian cultural figures.

WHEN: Friday, December 7, 2007 from 5:30 to 8:00 pm

WHERE: The Italian Cultural Garden, 990 East Blvd. (in Rockefeller Park)

WHY:  “The Italian Cultural Garden is among the most used by the citizens of Cleveland and the first cultural garden to install extensive historic lighting,” said Councilwoman Scott.  “I am happy to have such an asset be part of the community I represent.”
