Crime Stoppers Reward being offered for information relating to the fatal shooting in the Flats this passed weekend

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the death of Daymon Mumford, who was a victim of senseless violence in the Flats this weekend.

The reward money is being offered by Crime Stoppers, Councilman Joe Cimperman, Flats Oxbow Association, and other contributors.  Call (216) 252-7463 with information.

“This pointless shooting was a tragedy and it is important that justice is found for Daymond Mumford and his family,” said Councilman Cimperman.  “The Flats are among Cleveland’s vibrant, up and coming neighborhoods.  We will not tolerate violence here or elsewhere.”

Mumford was a hard working man earning a small extra income by working for a marketing firm on weekend nights.  Misplaced anger seems to be the only motive for the shooting.

“Flats residents and businesses are very concerned,” said Tom Newman, Director of the Flats Oxbow Association.  “We are joining to gather funds to bring the perpetrators to justice and send a message that we will not stand for these kinds of incidents in our community.”
