Councilman Dow and Hough Community to Protest East High Closing
 
 
WHO: Councilman TJ Dow, Ward 7, and the Hough Community, supported by
Council President Martin J. Sweeney, Ward 18
Majority Leader Phyllis E. Cleveland, Ward 5
  Councilman Terrell H. Pruitt, Ward 1
  Councilwoman Mamie Mitchell, Ward 6

WHAT: Councilman Dow and the community will gather in front of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) building for a press conference and to protest the closing of East High School.
   
WHEN: Thursday, January 7, 2010 at noon
 
WHERE: In front of the CMSD building
1380 E. 6th Street
   
WHY: “East High School has served as a beacon of hope for this community for 35 years,” said Councilman Dow.  “To close the school destabilizes the neighborhood surrounding it and the lives of all the teenagers that attend.”
