| Cleveland makes the list of Finalists for the National League of Cities Municipal Excellence Awards |

The City of Cleveland is being considered for a National League of Cities (NLC) Municipal Excellence Award for the “Beyond the Tap” project, which was developed under the collaborative efforts of the Cleveland City Council Public Utilities Committee and the City of Cleveland Water Department.
The “Beyond the Tap” projected includes a comprehensive financial plan, a Sustainable Water Infrastructure Initiative and a forward thinking business plan that details the establishment of economic development agreements with anti-poaching provisions to be signed by other cities that use the Cleveland water system, a commitment to repair aging infrastructure and expansion to currently developing areas.
The Awards for Municipal Excellence will be presented to the winning cities at NLC’s Congress of Cities and Exposition in New Orleans, La., November 13-17, 2007.
