Councilwoman Chairs Weed & Seed Steering Committee at the
CCDO 2007 National Conference
 
 
Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland, Ward 5, is to participate in the Community Capacity Development Office (CCDO) 2007 National Conference in Detroit, Michigan between August 20 th and 23rd.  Councilwoman Cleveland has been elected to Chair the Central Weed and Seed Steering Committee.

"Application of the Weed and Seed Initiative has been instrumental in the continuing effort to better Cleveland's neighborhoods," said Councilwoman Cleveland.   "Participating in the CCDO 2007 National Conference in this capacity allows me to share our experiences and to ensure a positive direction for the program's future."

The CCDO 2007 National Conference will focus on a variety of issues, including building community capacity; grant writing; evaluation; strategic planning; partnership development; sustainability; creating local community wide efforts; and building safe, healthy and drug-free communities.
