I appreciate all the concern that has been shown by the community as a result of a news story regarding the personal affairs of my family.
While I believe it is inappropriate to comment on a court case that is currently underway, I would like to clarify that the events reported stemmed from a procedural error in Municipal Court Judge Stokes' courtroom. This error resulted in the issuance of a warrant when our attorney was delayed by another case and did not appear in court, despite the fact that the Judge was notified of the delay.
The random details that are being discussed publicly regarding this court case do not paint a complete picture of the issues at hand. However, I believe the best place for such details to be discussed is within the courtroom itself. Just as the misunderstanding that arose Monday night was quickly resolved, my wife and I are hopeful that this court case will be resolved quickly and fairly. |
