Councilman Dow to address tenant’s rights

WHO: Councilman TJ Dow, Ward 7

WHAT: Councilman Dow will take the floor at this evening’s Council Meeting to address tenants rights as it relates to the possible closure of high rises that have failed to obtain passing scores from HUD.

WHEN: Monday, April 20, 2009 at 7 pm

WHERE: Cleveland City Council Chambers (219)

WHY:

“Landlords and building owners that do not keep their buildings up to HUD standards and thereby lose their right to occupancy place tenants with limited means in the awful position of losing their homes,” said Councilman Dow.  “We need to pressure these owners to take care of their properties.”

Tenants from Community Circle II, Eliza Bryant Manor, Lexington Village, Park 85 Apartments, Regency Square Apartments, Rockefeller Apartments, Superior Apartments, Rainbow Place 1 & 2 Apartments, CMHA Addison High Rise, Springbrook Apartments, Willson Apartments, Addison Townhouses, Wade Apartments and Wade Chateau have been invited to attend tonight’s meeting.
