Ward 21
Councilman Martin J. Keane was appointed to Cleveland City Council on March 26, 2007 to represent the Ward 21 community, an area that includes the Puritas, Kamm’s Corners, and West Park neighborhoods.
Councilman Keane was born and raised in Ward 21, where his father served as Councilman in the 1970s. He graduated from St. Ignatius High School, and went on to attend Ohio State University and Cleveland Marshall College of Law.
Before serving on Cleveland City Council, Councilman Keane gained extensive experience in public service as a probation officer and most recently as Assistant County Prosecutor of Cuyahoga
County. Councilman Keane comes from a strong background of community service, and plans to continue the community and economic development in Ward 21 to enhance the area to its full potential.
As a native Clevelander, Councilman Keane feels a strong sense of connection to and pride for his community. He hopes to continue to build upon the strong foundation that Ward 21 has established for itself by working to connect businesses with the community.
Councilman Keane’s goal is to serve the Ward 21
community to the best of his ability by providing and nurturing safety, security, and comfort to the residents of the area. The Councilman and his wife currently reside in Ward 21 with their four children, and they are proud to call Ward 21 home. He is pleased to have the privilege and opportunity to serve Ward 21, and hopes to give back to the community that has done so much for him.
