Mr. John James, a resident of Ward 2, is the Policy and Research Manager for Cleveland City Council, where he analyzes and researches public policy issues for the Council. Mr. James works closely with Council President Martin J. Sweeney and other Cleveland City Council Committee chairpersons on researching major public policy issues that affect Cleveland and the surrounding region.
Mr. James completed his Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science, and Master of Public Administration degrees from the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. Mr. James also graduated from Baldwin Wallace College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Respiratory Therapy. Mr. James spent several years in the health profession as an Assistant Manager of Respiratory Care Services at St. Luke’s Hospital before making the career transition into government. Mr. James began his career in government as an intern for Cleveland City Council and has been an employee for sixteen years.
Aside from working for Cleveland City Council, Mr. James is presently pursuing his doctoral studies in Political Science and Public Policy at Kent State University.
