Mr. Robert Jackimowicz, resident of Ward 18, is the Planning and Development Advisor for Cleveland City Council. Mr. Jackimowicz’s primary responsibilities include planning, research and development pertaining to the Community Development and Economic Development Committee, which consists of the legislative aspects of the committee and the monitoring of the City’s Departments of Community Development and Economic Development. Mr. Jackimowicz is also Council’s lead policy personnel assigned to the Public Utilities and City Planning Committees. Mr. Jackimowicz brings more than 30 years of both public and private sector experience in the fields of community and real estate development to City Council.
A graduate of Kent State University, Mr. Jackimowicz holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Geography. After completion of his BA, Mr. Jackimowicz began working as a Planner for the City Planning Commission and then as the Deputy Director for the Community Development Agency of the City of Youngstown. He then worked as a loan officer for the Mahoning Valley Economic Development Corporation before joining the Cafaro Company as the Director of Development Planning. Before joining the City Council Staff, Mr. Jackimowicz worked as the Director of Economic and Housing Development for the City of Oberlin and as the Executive Director of Main Street Elyria.
Mr. Jackimowicz has many distinguished accomplishments, including being a co-founder of the Citizens’ League of Greater Youngstown and a member of the board of trustees of the Commonwealth Revolving Loan Fund. He was selected as one of the first 40 people in Ohio to attend the National Development Council’s Economic Development Financing Course.
