The Public Safety Committee is responsible for the oversight of the Cleveland Police and Fire Departments, the Emergency Medical Service and the Boxing and Wrestling Commission. In addition, it oversees the enforcement of Cleveland's traffic code, off-street parking issues, and building inspections, and all matters related to the city's Department of Public Safety.

Emergency Response Sign

A sign intended to notify emergency response crews of residents’ need for assistance has been developed under the leadership of Safety Chair Kevin Conwell, Ward 9, and in cooperation with the City of Cleveland, CERT and the Department of Homeland Security.
